So I wanted to caveat this post a bit.. I've setup many a piece of networking equipment in my time, but for some reason this situation is blowing my mind a bit and IDK why. So the situation is.. I've got 2 sites that we will be replicating Netapp data between. Both locations have 1x1gb fiber and an Ethernet Virtual Circuit setup between the two. I had the ISP create an EtherChannel group on ports 0/7 and 0/8 and last week we connected our laptops to port 7 on both ends. Set static addresses on the same subnet on each and was unable to ping each other.
What my brain is having a hard time with is.. how do I handle the routing for this? I mean.. the data on these ports should only travel between the sites for this particular EC.. it goes nowhere else.
Can anyone help straighten me out on this?
