I am the non-official "administrator" at a local school. A couple months ago the school got a pretty serious wifi setup, but it wasn't set up properly. For example, the main wifi router (a Cisco 4321) wasn't even connected to the school's internal network (I found the RJ45 dangling in the air next to the main switch).
I have connected its RJ45 into the switch in the same rack, but now I'm facing different problems.
When I try to connect to the wifi from my mobile device, it redirects me to a page with a QR code, and it says that I should ask a teacher to scan it and authorize me to use the network. The thing is, none of the teachers were even told about this after the wifi gear was installed.
Apparently it wants me to use an app called "blackberry uem client" to scan codes and authorize users. But how do I authorize the teachers to use this app on their phone when needed?
I have installed the BlackBerry app on my phone, and this is what it wants from me. I assume that I'm supposed to access some sort of web admin interface (the UEM self service thing), probably installed on the Cisco router, and get the code or the QR from there. But how would I go about doing that? Or am I completely wrong?
I am not at the school right now, but I will be going back in a couple hours and I will post pics of all the relevant network gear if needed.
And no, we cannot contact the people who installed this in the first place. They did a half-assed job, didn't teach anyone how to use the system and then they disappeared.
