hello, im looking for a good console server vendor for our 2 datacenters. Im already looking at opengear, but does any one else have any recommendations?
our main objective is really just to have remote console access from our out of band networks. i see open gear advertises that they can integrate with various power strip vendors as well, so that may be something worth while as well. were not looking to replace the power systems though, and were not looking for much more as we already have systems for our backups and redundancy etc, since this is a Datacenter. at best we may consider it having cellular backup incase our OOB remote VPN is down as well as the main network due to some combination of outages.
this is really about being able to get console view remotely more than anything else given we no longer have any one working in the DC normally (we moved the engineers to the head office prior to covid) and our other DC is in another state where we only have one network engineer, so when hes not available we have to work with people from other teams to get console access in an emergency.
