We currently have ESXi hosts in 2 data centres with stretched L2 connectivity. This isn't as bad as it sounds at the minute as the Layer 2 is only used in a DR situation as VM's stay in their "home" DC normally, so there isn't much L2 traffic. We're wanting to start running VM's in both DC's on the same subnet simultaneously though.
I'm looking for recommendations on a switch model, preferably Cisco, that will allow us to run VXLAN + EVPN with Anycast gateways. We only need 16 SFP+ ports in each DC for the hosts. We have 36 OS2 cores available between DC's which are about 5KM apart. We'll be looking to uplink to our cores switches in each DC at 40Gbps. We're also not looking to break the bank.
