Question on Copper Backwards Compatibility 10Gbps ports to 10Mbps

Hi boys and girls,

My enterprise has this extremely legacy leased line connection connecting via an ISP's modem. The leased line speed is below 10Mbps, and for some reason, the ISP tells me that their modem is only capable of a 10Mbps connection. For the longest time ever, previous engineers installed a router with FastE 100Mbps ports in between this device and the router connected to our core router using a 1Gbps connection.

However the time has come to upgrade the core and now it only has 10Gbps ports available.

So I'd like to know, can a 10Mbps plug straight in to a 1000Base-T SFP connector?
