Pertinent details:
1) Registrar dyndns/dyn.com/dyn+oracle/yadda yadda yadda
2) Dyn account was automatically closed in January for inactivity (btw wtf?). Unable to login or reset password.
3) Domain expired May 24th, 2020.
4) Domain «redacted»
.ORG (sorry I'm really paranoid about domain squatters/extornatists)
5) lookup.icann.org/lookup

Domain Status:
clientTransferProhibited
autoRenewPeriod
I've had this domain for 9 years, and while I mostly just use it for Google Apps and Gmail, the domain name is personally very valuable and sentimental to me. A couple of days ago I started to wonder about my domain renewal because I didn't receive any renewal emails. I was unable to login to my dyn.com account, and password reset wouldn't process either. It was the weekend, and I didn't think too hard about it (did I do a 2-year renewal in 2019 or just 1-year...). Today I checked my emergency email account, and I found a very distressing email that dyn had closed my account in January 2020 because I didn't have any active services (I guess they meant DNS services as I had switched to Cloud Flare's free DNS last year). Then, I got the dreaded name.com
emails:
Hello,
We are Name.com, the ICANN accredited registrar for the domains listed below. You are receiving this notification because the domains have expired and you are listed as the registrant. The domains have been suspended and risk deletion if not renewed immediately.
If you received this message and you are not the administrator for your domains, please forward this notification to your webmaster or administrator.
The following domains have expired:
«redacted»
.org, 2020-05-24
Since I can't login to my dyn account, I can't open a support request tied to that account, and I've been unable to find a contact phone number for dyn. That's left me with trying a generic userhelp@dyn.com support request, which I just did and received an automated support ticket #, even being so enough desperate to provide photos of me and my driver's license to prove my identity.
Years ago, I remember reading horror stories of domain squatters buying expired domains, and this is my principle concern. I'm not sure how much danger a .ORG is in this scenario.
Questions/Advice Request:
1) I don't suppose anyone has a Dyn phone support number that they could share? I've been completely unable to find phone contact information. I feel like this situation could be resolved in 10 minutes with a phone call.
2) ICANN provides very vague information about autoRenewPeriod
. How pressed for time am I? My email and web services are obviously screwed for the mean time, but I'm extremely concerned about retaining the domain.
3) I haven't like using Dyn for several years, and I'd like to switch to a different registrar. However, I'm concerned that they may not be helpful in providing the domain transfer authorization code under these circumstances. Should I even broach the topic of transfer, or solely focus on restoring the Dyn account?
I know this probably is quasi-offtopic for this subreddit, but going through the other IT subreddits, this one would seem to have the most knowledgeable professionals on dealing with domain registration.
Thanks for your help
