Hello, title say it all really. My internal ping to every hop before my modem is usual <1ms to 2ms, but when i ping my modem it will spike anywhere from 15ms to 90ms. What would cause this? too much traffic for my current modem, or my ISP being unreliable and annoying?
Without saying too much, behind that modem is fairly expansive WAN with three very intense power users. I also have an usual amount of services and infrastructure running for a home environment, and its closer to a small business.
Anyway, getting back to the point, would an ISP provided modem being under powered cause higher ping rates both internally and out to the internet?
