I'm getting fiberoptic internet installed in my office where I'm the it(ish) guy. I was wondering when they install fiber do they bring a fusion splicer with them? If so and if I were to run fiber to other parts of our rapidly expanding building beforehand, how many $20s should I give the installers to splice it for me? Seriously though our Network is already reaching GB capacity at times. It seems like the only right way to add in a fiber backbone without spending a grand on a splicer.
