Running Network Cables Through Ceiling in Closet

I want to run network cables through the attic and into a closet. My plan is to drill a large hole in the ceiling of the closet so I have access to the attic. I would like this hole to be big enough so that I can add more network cables later if needed, but also somewhat covered so hot air or bugs don't enter it from the attic. At the moment I plan on having about 10 network cables going through this hole. I've seen pictures of PVC conduit used for the hole, but haven't found specific directions on how that is being installed. What's the best practice for running cables through a hole in the ceiling and wanting the ability to add more cables if needed in the future?
