standard for resilient network?

Hi

We have some problems with some equipment we purchased is not resilient to nefarious or spam traffic (like 300 arp query/s for 5 seconds ) (probably bad network card). Where the equipment needs to be isolate to stop some of the problems.

Is there any standard for resilient network (card)?

A standard that says a network have to be able to handel X amount of broadcast, ping or other network traffic without crashing (returning to normal operation when the traffic stops).
