I'll start with saying i'm from Canada. I recently switched providers from Cogeco cable internet to Distributel cable internet. After making the switch i decided to rent the router from them. i know (mistake #1). they provided a Smart RG 808ac router. after a few days i noticed my wifi kept dropping on all devices, iphone, ipad etc....but Ethernet connections were fine.(i run an apple tv through Ethernet with no issues). called my local computer shop. he suggested get your own router and set the one from your provider to bridge mode...
so i went out and bought a Linksys ac1900 . I'm pretty tech savvy, so i had to do a bit of research to figure out how to bridge the old router but was successful. problem was solved for a couple days, but after that i was right back where i started.. Ethernet connections work fine at 60+ mbs... wifi devices are hit and miss. the wifi connection is fine but internet is very unpredictable.. sometimes very fast.. sometimes super slow and sometimes none at all..
yes i ran a wifi analyzer . switched the channels to ones that have less traffic... by the way i'm in an appartment building...
how do i get my wifi to have a consistant connection to the internet???? it's driving me crazy!!!! please help...
