Ciena 6500 Tracing

Good afternoon all!

I'm a novice regarding optical transport. What guide would you recommend for gaining a basic understanding of the ciena 6500 platform?

I'm trying to trace and document fibers at work, but I'm not sure how to interpret what I find.

For example, it looks like each connection has some kind of sister processing card that sends them up to a eCMD44 mux, the aggregation ports then go right back down to a wss card on the ciena.

I'd like to learn how to tell where all that muxed traffic is being sent.
