I have 4x Cisco 3702 set up in a mesh. A single one is used as RootAP connected to a 3504 controller.
The AP's are set up with a priority parent and are in a single succession line that spans about a mile.
There is seemless client access as you roll through multiple antennas.
My issue is the truck needs an access point, 3702, set up to be a sort of client antenna to increase a laptops' range from the MAPs.
I've tried for about a day with no joy, any pointers would be greatly appreciated and I'll try it out.
Every guide (including Cisco writings) I've seen instructs the user to access the AP through its web gui or through the serial connection as an enabled user. Problem is, when I access the AP as enabled user there is no "config t" command or even "interface" or "config" my options are mostly limited to sho commands. I've factory reset multiple APs and get the same results. The only way I can configure them is through the WLC, and while I successfully set up the trucks AP as a RootAP when I try and give it a static IP (to try and move it into a client status) it doesn't stick, the 3504 DHCP overrides whatever I try and assign it. There's definitely a few steps I'm missing, I poured over this over two days and am at a loss. Any help or pointers would gladly be awarded with some Reddit gold.
