Hi all, I apologize ahead of time that I'm not the most computer literate. Just wondering if there's solutions for this that I haven't tried.
We have a network set up for a small company, the network is hard wired over two floors and we adapted to the networking that was in place with the building. I have no doubt that our networking is crossed and jacked up, we just haven't had the extra time or money to bring someone in to look at it or start over from scratch. All of the computers run slower than they should which makes me know it's a networking issue, but one computer in particular especially has problems.
My computer (~5 years old) and the trouble computer (brand new) are attached to the same Netgear box, my computer never has issues like aborting me from QuickBooks or dropping internet, but the other one does. She took the computer to a friend's house and she said it ran so much better, so I don't think this has anything to do with the computer itself.
Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot this? We've played around with firewall stuff and it hasn't helped. We are going to be moving the office around in a few months and it feels like starting from scratch now would be in vain, so I just want a solution that gets us by for awhile. It's disrupting work flow and making us lose money, just now she spent 20 minutes on an estimate only to have the network boot her when she went to save it. Thanks in advance.
