Not sure if r/networking is the best place to ask but figured some here would know since it's part of networking...
A long time ago a friend told me about how he had his email setup and I am not sure if its even possible but basically he had an email address like [johnny@friend.com](mailto:johnny@friend.com) which was his MAIN email. Any time he would signup anywhere he would give them an email like [facebook@friend.com](mailto:facebook@friend.com) or [reddit@friend.com](mailto:reddit@friend.com) and every email would just forward to his main [johnny@friend.com](mailto:johnny@friend.com) . He did that so that if any email ever got compromised and would get sold and sent spam he could simply stop that address and wouldn't get any more spam from them. I have tried to google and research but I don't know the proper terms to find out if this is even possible. I would assume you would need an email host or would buy your own domain and just have all addresses forward to the "main" address, right? Will hosts like rackspace do this or would you need your own server?
Thanks
