As far as I understand, Netflix developed an "Open Connect" platform, which is essentially a box used by ISPs so that content can be more quickly streamed to users in the ISP's area. The NIC used in the platform comes from a company called Chelsio:

Why is it that Netflix is using a Chelsio card as opposed to a Broadcom or a competitor's card? I hypothesized it was because the Chelsio card has good FreeBSD support, but I wanted to get the community's opinion on this matter.
