I am at my wit's end with this problem. We use CableOne as our ISP and are generally very happy with the service. Their support response is great and they're very persistent and communicative when troubleshooting problems.
The problem is that this issue has stumped EVERYONE. CableOne has been out here at least half a dozen times. They've replaced the cable modem twice, and I ended up buying a third cable modem off Amazon.
In every case, across multiple different models of cable modems, the same shit happens: the cable modem just soft reboots by itself.
CableOne has replaced the actual cable from the cable concentrators in the building to our unit.
The cable modem is on a UPS which has been swapped out.
The router has been swapped out.
The switch attached to the cable modem has been swapped out.
Literally everything has been replaced, but the problem persists.
Does anyone know of any environmental factors or network traffic that could do this? Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take to fix this?
