installing Ubiquiti Unifi AP, what else do I need?

hey guys going to be install approx 10 access points and am confused with what other equipment i need

i obvs need a switch and also a modem but i’m wondering if there is a switch that includes the software or some type of controller? or is that all done online thru the cloud?

i assume the connection will be

modem to router to switch to all 10 ap’s (not daisy chained) but am wondering how would you control all access points and set them up? there must be some type of controller or is it not mandatory? i’m new to the Ap world so looking to get some knowledge
