Firewall appliance comparable to Netgate pfSense

We’ve used Netgate pfSense firewall appliances in our company for a number of years now, along with paid support. They’ve usually had a 1U, 4 routable interface appliance for about $1500 (I’ve purchased C2758 and SG-8860-1U units in the past that fit that description.)

They have had a lot of churn in their product line over the past few years, and now are selling a newer/faster/better NOS “TNSR” as well as the traditional “pfSense” NOS on their appliances, leading to a plethora of appliance choices. I went looking for a replacement 1U rackmount appliance today, and to my surprise the base 1U 4-int appliance (XG-1541) is ~$2,650! They do sell a appliance with 8x1G ports + 2 10G ports for ~$1,150 (XG-7100-1U), but the 1G ports are all joined into a switch, and can only be split out via VLAN tags, which is a complexity I don’t want to deal with.

So, my question is, is there a decent 1U 4+ routable interface firewall appliance out there at a ~$1,500 price point? Would prefer an appliance with hardware/sw support rather than build-your-own (which I have also done.)
