DE-812TP+.. thing

Evening All,

And first of all I would like to apologies if this question is a bit daft or I've posted in the wrong area but this seems to be the place to get answers :p

I've gone a little potty trying to figure out what a piece of kits purpose is.. I recently picked up a gigabit switch for my infant homelab and was handed over a DE-812 TP+ switch / hub, Now.. I have googled the hell out of it and understand is a 10mbs switch with both a BNC port and AUI (no idea what either of these are or why they would be part of a what im assuming is a lump of scrap metal compared to todays standards.. but I'd still love to know what the ports on the back are for.

I'll try and attach some generic pictures off the net of the switch so you can see what i'm talking about.. I appreciate any feedback :)

for some reason I can't add any pictures so here;s a link to an external site that doesn't really give much information... but does show what is is..
