Recently started in an environment that is about 75% Cisco Catalyst 2960's, 25% Unifi for the access layer switches. The net admin before me started a project of moving the switches from all over the building into IDFs and upgrading the fiber runs to each IDF from the core. Trying to phase out the 24-port switches and buy 48-ports to conserve space and avoiding cascading switches off of switches. When I researched various options (more Unifi or more Cisco), I learned that the 2960s's now have an end-of-life date, whereas the 2960x's are the newer version that can be stacked with the S's as long as the os is the same. I have a limited budget and the Cisco certified switches are being quoted at 60% cheaper than brand new (which isn't in the budget). This seems like a great alternative, I was just wondering if anyone ever had any problems when doing this?
