Need help with Oxidized - How to prevent it from overwriting configs?

Hey,

I am new to networking and I really need some help with this!

Purpose of what I'm doing:

  • Create backup configuration files for switches every 24 hours and keep them for, say, 14 days
  • I want each backup to be as a separate file

Progress so far:

  • Set up Oxidized on Ubuntu 18.04.2
  • Configured Oxidized to read the switch
  • Configuration backup is successfuly created in ~/.config/oxidized/configs called X.X.X.X

Issues:

  • Whenever I run $ oxidized, the new backup overwrites the existing X.X.X.X file

What are my options here? Should I keep trying with Oxidized or should I look for another application? I tried with RANCID but I can't set it up properly (every documentation I find is at least a couple of years old).

Thank you so much in advance!
