Using Raspberry Pi as a Home Firewall

Hello Fellows,

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 and i have not used it in a long time. I am using ISP provided home gateway and my connection is 24mbps VDSL. I was looking for a solution for discard home gateway's authority and use Raspberry as a firewall and i would want to manage home network with Raspberry.

Then i remembered pfSense but i didn't know and learned they don't support ARM architecture. I found a stackexchange page and i saw the RaspBSD in there and i examined little bit. They are providing v11 stable BSD for Raspberry Pi 3 and it seems good but i don't know how can i configure that.

My to-do list (goal):

1) Share internet via WIFI 2) MAC Filter 3) Some basic firewall rules for home security

Could you please share your experiences and help about this issues? And one more thing i don't need to use RaspBSD. Do you know any other solutions for this job?

P.S: Also i found something about OpenWRT. They support Raspberry Pi versions and this image for my RPI3.

Thank you in advance.
