I'm looking for the right term for the following situation:
Let's assume we have an IP network with a router A which is the default gateway for hosts in that subnet. It has a route for another subnet which points to router B in the same subnet so traffic for that external network is passed on by router A to router B, occassionally accompanied by sending ICMP redirects to the host where the traffic originates which may or may not be honoured by the host leading to asymmetric routing and general bad mood. ;-)
Is there a term for this often-found problem in less looked after networks? I'd be grateful to know.
