The title says it all.
Just finished an interview with a well-known company in the IT industry. The interview was very technically based around networking and knowing the ins and outs of Layers 3 and 4.
I tried my best to recall certain knowledge and applying them in the scenario-based questions. To no avail, I think the interviewers gave up half-way on most (if not all) on the questions.
I asked at the end of the interview for advice and how to improve for future reference. He/she responded with "You knew all of the basic terms, but your foundational knowledge needs to be much stronger of how everything works."
I've always understood having complete understanding translates into your knowledge of things. However, i honestly just can't fathom how to interrelate all of these specific terminologies and achieve the "big picture".
I have no experience in networking, except what has been done in some of my CCNA courses. I can't help but think that one must have extended amounts of experience.
But more than anything, I want to see the big picture of what I'm learning and apply it.
Any advice for me going forward?
