Cheap-ish 40Gb or better equipment

I am looking to replace my ageing storage controllers with 3x 2019 S2D servers.

I am looking in to what networking equipment i can use with these. From what i can see MS recommends that I need RDMA using either ROCE or Infiniband. If i use ROCE then the switch the NICs connect to needs to support data centre bridging.

I have been looking at the Mellanox SB7700 along with adapters like the Mellanox MCX456A-ECAT, Operating in InfiniBand mode. Which between 1 switch and 6 NICs i can get for around £8,000

I am on a bit of a budget so anything i can get off ebay is a bonus, however I have read that some mellanox switches require extra licensing?

Is anyone aware of anything that would better suit my needs and still fit to a budget? The easier it is to learn how to use the better, however i will need minimum interaction as it is purely for 3 servers to communicate and transfer data between eachother.

Thanks in advance for any help! it is appreciated.
