I am working on a design for our border routers. We're going to be in a multi-homed setup with two border routers connected via L3 switches downstream to the core. The L3 switches are acting as copper ports to the core as well as our firewalls.
My question is does it make sense to run IBGP on the l3 switches as they are just transient to the core?
If so, would it be worth while to run a route reflector on one as there will be 4 l3 switches, the 2 boarder routers and the core. I understand it's not a huge scale of devices, but it is a lot of peering.
Please share your thoughts! Thanks!
