I'm a network engineer in a Wisp and we are looking for a new monitoring tool. We do Wisp on camp sites but this is starting to be a side business. Mainly at this moment we do outdoor city wifi, some enterprise and private LTE networks. We manage about 6000 devices not including end points. This grows at a rate of about 100 devices a month. All these devices are at remote sites.
At this moment we are using Nagios XI for monitoring, Netbox for IPAM, Zendesk for ticketing,....
All of these are ok at what they do but we are looking into getting something better as we are starting to build critical networks for big factories. Networks with low SLA times and so on.
What we would like to have in the new monitoring is:
-Network monitoring
-Config and backup management. (Including firmware pushing)
-Bandwidth management.
-IPAM (if possible)
Things we are looking at are: Solarwinds, PRTG, Manageengine,...
I would like to know what you guys are using and what you think of it. If you guys think stuff like Solarwinds and the others that I said aren't worth it and/or there is better ones out there let me know. It doesn't have to be a single software packet as long as we can get them to work together through API or something.
