NetPi Plus Help

Hello!

I am having an issue with a NetPi plus install and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3B+ | 16GB RPI SD Card | Kuman 3.5" Screen

The issue:

I burn the .img file to the SD using Win32DiskImager as normal, i install the card and proceed to boot.

I get to the NetPi boot screen and it freezes on either of these 2 items:

1. rc-local.service
2. systemd-user-sessions.service

I can log in via SSH however when i run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and the system updates it seems to break the NetPi install and shows the Raspbian loader screen and still freezes on the same services.

I am a bit of a linux noob so any advice or pointers would be gratefully appreciated
