I have never seen this before... why would your connection completely hault without loss of sync, because of joining a chat? (DETAILED INFO INSIDE)

Hey all!

So - In all of my time, I've never really encountered anything quite like this.

This isn't something pertaining to "advanced gaming latency" issues - per the sub rules.

This is a genuinely confused question, and looking for resolution.

My Provider: Spectrum

Equipment: Moto SB6183 + Netgear N600

Essentially - right now, most of the time when I connect to an Xbox Live party.. there is a chance my internet will completely cease functionality. The modem doesn't lose sync, the router itself doesn't go out either. I checked the Status Logs on both pieces of equipment.. and there is nothing. No loss of sync, no errors to report - nothing at all. The lights don't change - nothing.

These are GOOD FRIENDS. So no DDOSing is happening here

Not until I unplug my modem and reset it, will my internet start to function again.

NOTE: I found ONE post on the internet resembling this issue, and the person used Comcast internet.

Coincidentally, some of the people I connect too have Comcast internet as well.

Can an ISP conflict cause an outage without loss of Sync?
