I have a 12-strand (6-pair) fiber run between two server rooms. Pairs 1 & 3 are already connected to existing equipment and functioning. I am trying to connect a couple new switches. I can connect the switches directly via a single LC cable, but when I try to go through the patch panel it doesn't work. I've used verified cables that work switch-to-switch. I've tried both combinations of polarity. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything else. I've tried three of the other pairs in the panel. I can't use the known-good pairs in the patch panel because they are production equipment, but what are the odds that those are the only two working pairs?? Everything is multi-mode.
What am I missing? Any other troubleshooting/testing steps I can take?
