Can someone help me understand the relationship between VXLAN and MPLS l3 VPN?
-VXLANs extend VLANs over L3 by encapsulating l2 frames in UDP packets.
-MPLS L3 VPNs use VRFs to segment routing tables and provide isolated communication over a WAN with MP-BGP.
Both result in an isolated domain extended over a WAN. Am I correct that l3 VPN and VLXANs serve similar use cases? Or am I missing something really basic?
