Patch panel mapping?

Hi.

I can't seem to find information on the typical documentation against patch panel mapping.

What type of labeling schemes are out there? For example, user desks to patch panels.

Are you grouping typicals (waps or security or user desks) per patch panel? So for this instance, 3 separate patch panels? Or do you group catagories so left side pp is always waps?

Also, how do you demonstrate what you are wanting to the low voltage contractor? Just an Excel spreadsheet?
