How to use variable/alias in Cisco IOS for FTP Redirect of Output

I googled this and couldn't find a way to do this but I feel like there must be a way using the native IOS CLI commands. I want to do something similar to the following:

show version | redirect ftp://cisco:cisco@192.168.1.100/$hostname-version.txt

The idea would be able to run this command on routers/switches in mass with the output file being the hostname of the given IOS router or switch. I would even settle for the IP address if I had to. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?
