From my limited understanding of this it's a Peer to Peer kind of architecture. So say if I was Skyping with someone in my own home LAN, how exactly would the data/packets flow from one of our computers to the other? Do they go through some kind of supernode out on the web before coming back into the local network? And how do things like NAT and firewalls come into play and affect it?
And how is this compared to say Skyping with someone on the other side of the planet?
