Phones and printers on the same vlan

I am in a discussion with a colleague about wheater we should have VOIP phones on the same vlan as printers. We want to create a vlan of non-domain joined computers that is locked down to the few services they need. Internet, print server, UCM, ect. My argument is that it is best practice to have voice on their own vlan, and their argument is that it will be simpler to manage if they are on the same vlan.

Does anyone have any horror stories of phone and printers on the same vlan that caused call quality issues?
