Juniper or Alcatel sweet orange status displays

About 10 years ago, I used to find myself using either Juniper equipment (like the MX480 for instance) or the Alcatel 7700, 7000 series daily. Large full height chassis with dual power supplies, redundant routing engine cards, and so on.

One of these devices had the coolest orange scrolling status displays that were super crisp and bright. They were off to the left hand side of a series of ports and were vertical. They reported some type of status about the port/group of ports to which they were related. I believe they were on some gig and 10gig sfp based cards. Some ethernet line cards.

Now that I've been doing more electronics projects, I'd like to use those same type of displays. I think they were simply small vacuum fluorescent displays but heck if I've ever found anything similar, so I'd like to have another look at them, but I'm struggling. These were not your typical LCDs, with or without a filter on top. Way more sharp and bright.

It's possible that I'm conflating other network test equipment that was in the same rack but I think it was one of those two vendors.

Thanks for taking a look at the post.
