I need to connect two Cisco switches on different floors in an office tower. The total distance between the switches will be around 100 meters.
Floor Level 4 has a Cisco 2960-X 48-port switch
Floor Level 3 has a HP 1410-24G 24-port switch
I would like to link the two using the using fibre and compatible gigabit transceivers.
For the Cisco, I would like to use a GLC-SX-MMD which is dual LC/PC, MMF, 850nm and DOM.
For the HP, I would like to use a J4858A which is also dual LC/PC, MMF, 850nm and DOM.
Would I be correct in assuming that because they both have the same parameters in terms of wavelength and connector specifications, that they will work together?
