I'm looking for a good, non vendor-specific, fundamental intro to networking, including concepts such as VLANs, OSI model, TCP/IP, Routing basics and so on. I would prefer it to be vendor neutral, at least to a certain degree, as we use a mix of equipment, and I prefer to focus on concepts, not $Vendors name for that concept.
I have looked at a few, such as Networking Fundementals by Richard M. Roberts.
I do not have personal experience with any English language books in the broad topic of networking, so I would love some recommendations. The book will not be used for any courses, but for self study for a colleague.
