Hi, would appreciate gear and configuration suggestions to bring internet access to 100 condos in a 12 story property we own. The only option for tenants is DSL right now, which is very slow, so I have researched 1GB to 2GB Fiber circuits and planned on bringing Edgemax and Aircubes onto the UNMS we already have deployed for other buildings we own. Apparently Aircubes are having issues with firmware so I am looking at other options.
About The Building - Existing Wiring
- Floors 1 through 4 floors have CAT6 cable coming down to 1st floor maintenance room
- Floors 5 through 12 have fiber coming down to a separate room on the first floor and on each floor there is CAT6 going to every condo.
- Each condo will get a wireless router that we would be managing
Each condo will have its own SSID. Sometime condos have owners/renters in year round, some rent out their condos through us. Tenants want to be able to print to their wifi printers and airplay to their Roku/AppleTV etc so a "campus wifi" or "hotel wifi" solution is off the table.
I had planned to deploy a private network and vlans, using the condo wifi/router in router mode instead of NAT. I was then going to get an edgerouter or had even considered the new Unifi XG router, but with aircubes off the table I am looking at other vendors for hardware.
