FTD/FMC can ping IP but not resolve DNS

Hi

Recently experienced a outage which had us factory reset our firewall since the configuration got corrupted and backups as well. Anyway I've setup our FTD and FMC as usual but our clients etc cant reach Internet, but can ping internet addresses fine. Clearly this is a DNS issue. I've configured the FMC to use Umbrella DNS and I also setup FTD DNS to use umbrella but if I run show dns on the FTD I get "No FQDN activated" So I'm feeling i've missed something easily. Any tips?
