dot1x and Dell usb-c docking stations.

Hey guys. I'm running into an issue with some docking stations tripping port security.

The gist of it is, the docking station has it's own MAC address. Then, when a computer is docked, it switches to "pass-through". This means that the port doesn't actually change states, but it does change reported MAC addresses, which trips security and takes the port down.

I've found a couple of articles that mention this being a BIOS setting on the machine attached to the dock, but I'd really prefer if we could adjust the docking station itself to be pass-through at all times.

The set up in place checks that the machine is domain joined, and obviously the docks themselves aren't domain joined, just the laptops going through them.

Has anyone else run into this issue? What did you do to fix it?
