When I look at it, IGMP snooping seems like it should always be enabled to stop unknown multicast traffic from flooding the network. Does enabling IGMP snooping interfere with streaming devices on the network?
Also is explicit tracking or IGMP Fast Leave just an added bonus to avoid IGMP control traffic on the LAN? Why aren't IGMP Snooping/Fast Leave enabled by default on all L2/L3 switches?
