I'm a bit new to network so please bare with me. I'm working for a company that sells LED Signs and manufacturer them. Currently one of my tasks has been to find what causes the communication to these signs via UDP (Media) to fail when TCP goes through without a problem. Most of the times we see this behavior is when client plug their sign to their own network that have firewalls. Also another instance was a VM machine sending via UDP to a sign connected to an external IP (Verizon). I haven't been able to replicate it outside their environments.
My questions here is why would it fail over UDP and work in TCP? and what can i do to take proactive steps to unblock or setup compliant configurations to allow it?
