Mass update Cisco secret password

Hi all,

I need to update the console password for a bunch of Cisco routers. However when i use the md5 hasing or scrypt hasing the same password results in different hashes on 2 routers.

I wanted to use the configuration (username x secret {MD5}) in some sort of automation to prevent me using the password in plain text on our tooling systems.

Is this a problem or can i use the output of 1 host to copy / paste it to 200 other branch locations? I'll try it out myself later this evening at home. However there might be someone on this subreddit who's familiar with this topic.
