We're going to be replacing our aging 3700/3500/2900 switches soon. The company isn't going to go for the price of new Cisco gear and it seems that my recommendation is going to hold a lot of weight.
I mentioned Juniper as a cheaper alternative to the higher ups and they're looking into it. I have zero experience with them, but they look comparable feature-wise and fairly straight forward to adapt the current configs over. However looking at prices on Amazon, that might be a bit more than they'll wanna spend as well. This is a company of roughly 300 people and we're currently using 12 48-port switches.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Netgear's line of managed enterprise equipment? Looks like it has a lifetime warranty/equipment replacement/tech support. Prices look (almost too) good, and the feature set also looks comparable. I know this type of question gets asked a lot, but I didn't find as much recent stuff on Netgear, so thought I'd ask. What's everyone's recommendation for SMB switches?
