Installed New Modem and Router, Ethernet Connections No Longer Work

I've been going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving week for six years and they don't know their wi-fi password and it didn't reach anywhere anyone need wi-fi anyways, so I went ahead and purchased a new Arris Modem, Google Wi-Fi and set them up. All of the mobile devices and my laptop worked just fine but they have a home ethernet setup as well and I was able to access the internet just fine by directly plugging my laptop into their switch, before I had logged into the wi-fi, so I thought everything was fine.

Almost a week later my father in-law tells me that the desktops connected via ethernet aren't working and the network printer isn't working either. These are on Windows 7 64-it and on the adapter it says that the computer is connected to the network via IPv4 but they can't access the internet.

It's really hard to trouble shoot this from 1,300 miles away, so I'm trying to limit the number of things I'm asking him to do. So is this likely a computer, router, modem, or provider problem? Since my laptop, Windows 10 Dell Latitude 7480, was able to connect through the switch, I'm assuming that it's the computers.

I did have him try connecting to the wifi which worked but still no internet but he didn't unplug the network cable. Even if I get it working over wifi, will the printer work?
