Cisco switch stacking question

Hey All -

So I understand stacking but I'm after some best practices.

If I have 4 switches, stacked in a ring (say all 9300s) how do I ensure that each switch comes up with the correct number each time?

So when I first set them up I can boot switch 1 first, switch 2 second, etc.

At this point they all should come up as the proper switch number.

I can do switch 1 priority 15, and switch 2 priority 14 so I always know who my master is...

Now say they lose power and then the boot order is switch 3, switch 2, switch 1, switch 4.

How do the switches get the right "number" so the port configurations aren't messed up?

Also do you have any links on best practices for adding / removing members from a stack?
