A coworker friend of mine is looking for a new job. He has ~20 years of experience in network engineering. What are realistic compensation numbers he can expect?

He holds a CCIE and lives in Northern California. He is open to commuting to Silicon Valley if the compensation justifies it. Does anyone know what kind of numbers he can expect to ask from recruiters/companies? He works for a smaller tech company and is making somewhere around the 100k mark (with maybe a little above that if factoring bonus).

We've heard rumors of network engineers making up to 200k (or even more) at FANG companies, but I was wondering if this sub could confirm or deny...
