Two small DC nexus 5k linked by L2 ring (path selection)

Hello,

I have 2 small DC in different geographic location.

Hardware used is 2xNEXUS 5672UP at each site.

Currently we have a single LANEX link between sites. The plan is to add a redundant link.

Traffic on the LANEX is all L2 vlans, lots of them. Most vlans are used to mesh the nexus together with ospf ptp links on multiple vrfs.

I currently have a single point of failure switch that is used to aggregate all the vlans before entering entering the providers equipment (cisco me3400)

The provider is telling me is infrastructure will be completely transparent from my point of view. (Using cdp neigbor I see my switch at the other site, not the provider switch)

I'm basically thinking I'm going to remove the single point of failure switch and create a L2 VPC port-channel between the two sites. The issue is that the contract states that we can only send traffic on one link at the time. Typical port-channel would load balance traffic between the two links.

I don't want to play with spanning-tree cost either as it would be a complete nightmare to operate and document.

What are the protocols available on this platform that would allow me to deal with these requirements, while also keeping things simple ?

I was recommended G.8032 by the provider but this protocol doesn't seem to be available on the nx-os platform I'm using.

Thanks
